Onychomycosis or nail fungus appears as a discolored nails, thickened or laminated. Pain may be felt at the base of the nail, and a hindrance limiting the wearing of shoes, walking and sports activities.
That disease should be treated to prevent the infringement does not spread to other nails but also to prevent transmission to others. Indeed, fungal infections are very contagious.

But currently, only one quarter of people affected receive treatment. And yet, it is initiated late, at a time when the entire nail is affected. According to the National Observatory of onychomycosis, nearly 10% of those involved have a complete destruction of one or several toenails.

Factors favoring onychomycosis

There are many contributing factors:

* The moisture and heat.

* The sports played barefoot like swimming or judo and other sports such as marathon at risk.

* Wearing closed shoes or boots.

* The Strain and repeated injuries by manicurists.

* Detergents or frequent contact with water.

* Some conditions: diabetes, obesity, psoriasis, peripheral vascular disease, osteo-articular.
